Nate Real is the Manager of Bowser-Morner's Radon Reference Laboratory. He oversees the operation of the two radon chambers and the internal quality assurance procedures associated with them, as well as staff members.
Nate joined Bowser-Morner after graduating from Purdue with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. His first years at Bowser-Morner were spent under the mentorship of Health Physics Society Fellow Dr. Phillip H. Jenkins, who envisioned and designed both radon chambers. As Dr. Phil looked toward retirement, Nate was promoted to manager of the lab in 2022.
Nate’s daily operations include scheduling and monitoring chamber conditions to meet client needs and overseeing calibrations, performance tests, and spiking of radon detectors in the chambers.
In his free time, you can find Nate at the gym training for bodybuilding competitions. He also enjoys watching the NFL and is an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
