Geotechnical engineering is the branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behavior of earth materials. Geotechnical engineering includes investigating existing subsurface conditions and materials; assessing risks posed by site conditions; designing earthworks and structure foundations; and monitoring site conditions, earthwork and foundation construction.

Our geotechnical teams have conducted thousands of soil studies related to foundation designs for commercial office buildings, manufacturing plants, bridges, highways, airports, towers, and other structures. Other services include the analysis of landslides, design of earth retaining structures and the monitoring of in-situ pore water pressure. Some examples of our project designs include hazardous and sanitary waste disposal facilities, fresh water dams, coal refuse embankments, and grading and drainage systems.

Our project team consists of talented geotechnical engineers licensed in 15 states supported by geologists, hydrogeologists, and civil engineers. A library of computer programs and a Computer Aided Design Drafting system are available to complete our engineering projects.
