Bowser-Morner's Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratories are among the largest and most modern testing facilities in the United States. Our Dayton and Toledo, Ohio locations perform physical and chemical testing on a wide variety of construction materials such as:
Soil
Aggregate
Rock
Coal Refuse
Waste Streams
Concrete
Masonry
Asphalt
Roofing
Other Construction Materials
Geotechnical testing is also performed in the laboratories at our Lexington, Kentucky and Springfield, Illinois locations.
Additionally, the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certifies many of the technicians in our Geotechnical and CMT Laboratories. Stringent quality assurance and quality control procedures provide results our geotechnical engineers can rely on as they consider recommendations for your site. And that means peace of mind for you.
Recent additions to the laboratory include a Geocomp Corporation Geolog System 5. This system includes 33 Brainard-Kilman triaxial/permeability cells and a data acquisition system that collects information on deformation, load, and pore pressure. The computer reduces and plots such data as:
Stress Path
Mohr's Circle
Actual Strain Versus Shear
Actual Stress Versus Stress
Principal Stress Ratio
The data acquisition system also collects consolidation data, plots time versus settlement curves, and reduces and plots the e-log p-curve. For unconfined load tests, the system plots actual stress versus load.
To meet your high standards, as well as our own, our Geotechnical and Construction Materials Laboratories are thoroughly qualified with certifications and accreditations:
AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory Accredited - ISO/IEC 17025
Approved by the Ohio Department of Transportation
Approved by the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources
Approved by the Indiana Department of Transportation
Approved by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet
Approved for testing by the US Army Corps of Engineers
